Question: can anyone name an actress who started off when she was 26?

I just turned 26 two days ago and i pretty much cried most of that morning, axiously combing the town of beauty services and retail therapy. I get anxious alot these days because i feel like its too late for me to pursue an acting career.
I am married with two children (3yrs & 2yrs old) living in Australia and YES I KNOW all 3 of these factors present a problem...but i feel that if i was to leave it any longer it may never come.
I cant help but compare my age and situation to every other actor on the planet which makes feel like im in everyones review mirror lol. What's really awakened my spirit is the movie Twilight and the actor Robert Pattinsons biography on how he became an actor. Right place at the right time?
Any advice?
Answer: Hi, Jooz83. I know how that feels. Heck, every time you look up an actor, they were in commercials at the age of three and were on Broadway at ten years old!
But, if you haven't yet noticed, any actor who's had significant success had a non-standard way of becoming famous. Being at the right place at the right time, a lot of the time. Acting is at least partially based on luck.
Of course you're not too old! You're only 26! In Hollywood and Broadway and every where else where actors perform, there are plays with people of MANY ages! Plus, people who are 28 played high schoolers in High School Musical. It really doesn't get worse than that, right?
Now, in order to become an actor, you have to place your husband and children before acting at all times. If acting is your first priority and not your children, your relationship as a wife and as a parent is bound to fail. Find some amateur, non-union work in the area, where you don't need an agent to get cast. Once you've gotten some parts in local shows, an agent may just be watching and pick you out. If you're really talented, you can look for an agent yourself. He or she will find you more jobs from there. Take some inexpensive acting classes, which are vital for connections, and meet people. You never know who can help you fulfill your dreams!
