Answer: "Magic Bites" Modern fantasy. Lots of action, kick butt heroine, shapeshifters, vampires, and mutants, oh my!
Currently finishing up "Dictionary of World Folklore". I'm really enjoying it as well. Non-Fiction/reference. Just what it says, lists the various themes and motifs of folklore from all across the world in alphabetical order. Because you never know when you'll need to know how to fight an ancient russian demon. . .
