Question: What is the best Mozart biography book?
I would also want to ask the same question about Chopin and Beethoven. Thank you for your help.
I would like it to be fun to read:)
Answer: I'm not sure about Chopin, but Maynard Solomon's two biographies of Mozart and Beethoven ("Mozart: A Life" and "Beethoven") are definitely worth a look. He's a terrific storyteller with a double background in musicology and psychology, so he's able to paint really compelling portraits, while also making an effort to relate the music to what's going on in the composer's life.
