Answer: Caesar was coming off 10 years as a proconsul in Gaul where he was immune from prosecution as long as he held his proconsular imperium. His enemies in Rome were planning to prosecute him for alleged (and in large part real) illegalities prior to going to Gaul and for grossly overstepping his authority while in Gaul. His options were to lay down his imperium and get buried by his enemies in Rome or to march on Rome with his troops and take the place over. He chose the latter, and not without precedent, Sulla having done much the same a couple of decades earlier.

The story of his assassination is mostly myth and legend but “stopped fighting” isn’t exactly correct. The custom of Romans was to not allow your face to be visible to your enemies as you died in battle or, as here, while being assassinated. It had a long history. Once you knew it was hopeless you drew your toga over your face so your enemies couldn’t see your agony and “death face”.

The psychological warfare against women in business is enough to annihilate the smallest spark of competition and thus I have to hand it to any woman, including myself, who has made tremendous strides and against the odds.

But the old prejudices prevail and even Virgin Queens get mud slung at them without remorse.

I know I was very angry when the Bird`s Eye festival about women comediennes in a debate about the subject pulled in two male critics (Kevin Brownlow and some guy dragged over from America) to discuss the subject with a woman from the BFI.

Mind, I had just reissued my Marilyn Monroe biography `The Marilyn Scandal` via Sandra Shevey Books and have done a considerable amount of research about Marilyn as an actress and a comedienne. I also knew firsthand many of the comediennes whom they profiled including Joan Blondell and others.

But it wasn`t or isn`t just a personal thing. They failed to recruit any of the profound feminist critics.

So why is Snow doing JC?

Answer: Seems like you have a lot of anti male issues.

Prejudice can work both ways and you are offering a very good example of gender stereotyping albeit as female against male.

Is the male point of view any less valid than the female? You appear to think so.

Question: Did Hitler had a “double personality” like some “Dr. Jekyl and Mr. Hyde”?

Of course his victims will reject completely my comments and I understand. However reading several books, “The Mind of Adolf Hitler” by Walter C. Langer, “The Psychopatic God” by Robert G.L. Waite and other biographies, make me think this guy was some “Dr. Jekyl and Mr. Hyde” character. He could be “nice” with his secretaries, “nice” with his dog German sheppard, “nice” with the kids [small German kids were taught to call him "Uncle Adolf"] and seem “lovable” with certain people like young peasant girls. Even cried for a dead canary once. Yet isn’t this the same guy who ordered a mass extermination war and killed 6 millions Jews in the gas chamber? Really some humans are weird. Feedback, please.
Yes, he persecuted many more victims. But Jews seem to be his “favorite” to hate.

Answer: Hitler did have multiple health problems, other than obvious mental issues he was known to have severe gastrointestinal discomfort, for which he was prescribed some more than questionable remedies, such as dried Hungarian peasants feces, but i digress, we cannot confirm mental health issues as he didn’t have regular phsycological evaluations, we can only assume that he was disturbed at some level, but i believe that you have to dismiss claims of multiple personality’s without further evidence. If anyone was more disturbed i would say it would have to be either Joseph Stalin, or Edward Gein. look them up if you wish, particularly Gein, he was… odd to say the least.

but don’t forget Hitler didn’t just kill jews, there were another 6.5million, Slavs, POW’s, Homosexuals, Gypsies, and Blacks. So 12.5 Million total, but Stalin had over 25 Million people killed.

Answer: i think all this is in Act V ,not Act IV

1. cassius sends titinius to his tent near the hills to check whether the soldiers present there are his friends or enemies. they were actually cassius’ people and welcomes titinius with a shout. but, pindarus misinterprets that they are the enemies and they shouted because they were able to capture titinius and tells cassius that titinius is captured which leads to cassius’ suicide.

2.when they marched towards philippi,the eagles that flew over them earlier over them were gone, and, ravens and crows took their place, circling over them as if they were their prey.[This is 1 omen]

3.cassius asks pindarus to kill him with the sword(the one which they used to kill caesar)after he closed his eyes and died so with caesar’s name on his lips.

4.brutus asks strato to hold his sword(the same one) while he runs onto it and dies with caesar’s name on his lips.

Question: A book on the life of Annie Leibovitz? (A biography)?

I need to find a published book written about Annie Leibovitz (she’s a famous photographer that worked for Rolling Stone, Vanity Fair, etc)… preferably a biography. I know there are plenty of books that she has published of her photographs but that’s not what I’m looking for. I have looked everywhere, even on Barnes and Noble… I can’t seem to find anything except for books of her work not about her specifically. OR, I need to find an article written about her that is about 25 pages. I have looked and looked but have come up with nothing! I already know about Wikipedia so please don’t give me the link… it’s not what I need. Thanks so much!

Answer: A Photographer’s Life: 1990-2005, is as close to biography as you are going to get. She was very private, especially after she hooked up with Sontag. Why not get hold of the special and watch that to get some of your info…The name was Life Through a Lens.

Answer: – Mao did not directly order the murders of people that can be seen as genocidal. Like most dictators, he took out his opposition, but he was not a genocidal maniac. Maybe a mass-murderer at the most. But, it was his “Cultural Revolution” that caused deaths on a colossal scale via famine, disease and starvation. The Chinese government claims 30 million died during it, but historians put a figure anywhere from 40 million – 79 million.

- On the Armenian Genocide; figures vary between 600,000 (Modern Turkish estimate) right through to 1,5 million (Western and Armenian government estimate).

- During the Bolshevik Revolution, it was mainly famine and starvation that killed many people. The high estimate puts the number at 10 million. Lenin has been tasked with “killing” 10,000 people. And the Bolshevik Revolution also saw two phases of Civil War, so it’s not really a genocide. More a revolutionary Civil War.

- It’s hard to get a figure on how many people died under the expanison of the Mongol Empire. He conquered vast areas so it is difficult to get a figure and alot of the territory was not heavily populated. And also, considering the time period, populations were not that big either. The average figures vary between 2-4 million. But like I say, it’s hard.

- There are no solid figures on Pre-Colombian Native American populations. The total population number of all the Americas pre-colonialism has gone from 10 million to the current figure of around 100 million. And historians say as much as 80% of the Native American population died from European diseases and subsequent wars and extermination. As I say, this is not a figure for North America alone, but for the entire Americas. And the Native Americans did not keep population censuses, so we will never know their exact population sizes.

Very few of these events could actually be tagged as genocides in all honesty. A genocide is the intentional act of destroying another a group. Only the Armenian genocide fits the bill and possibly the colonisation of the Americas. Genghis Khan was just building an Empire, like Rome & Greece done before him and the British after him. I’ve already stated that the Bolshevik revolution was more of a revolutionary Civil War that an outright attempt to destroy another group and Mao did not intend to destroy his people othet than his opponents. He just wanted a quick-fix, and harsh, plan to better their lives which ironically made their lives worse.
