Question: Where can I find some anti semitic quotes by Henry Ford?
i seem to cant find any anti semitic quotes by him. i guess people dont like to document or talk about him hating the jews.
Answer: I wasn't able to find many quotes either: this may be because Ford didn't interact with many people--reportedly he was largely inaccessible to all but a trusted few, and access to him was controlled through his personal secretary, Ernest Liebold.
Ford bought a failing newspaper, "The Dearborn Independent", and required all Ford dealers to subscribe to it: at its peak, it had 700,000 subscribers. It was through a writer for the "Independent", William Cameron, that Ford's anti-Jewish views were promulgated, with Liebold reportedly approving all Cameron's articles prior to publication.
The "Independent" published a series of anti-Semitic articles later collected in book form as "The International Jew", as well as the notorious "Protocols of the Elders of Zion", which claimed to be the minutes of meetings of Zionists bent on world domination but was later exposed as a forgery by the imperial Russian secret police.
Ford is quoted as having said, “I know who caused the war (World War I)—the German-Jewish bankers! I have the evidence here. Facts! I can’t give out the facts now, because I haven’t got them all yet, but I’ll have them soon.”
Hitler was an admirer of Ford and "The International Jew", of which he had a personally annotated copy. Ford was the only American mentioned in Hitler's "Mein Kampf": "Every year makes them [the Jews] more and more the controlling masters of the producers in a nation of one hundred and twenty millions; only a single great man, Ford, to their fury, still maintains full independence. "
Ford apparently believed (a) that Jews controlled world finance, (b) that these international bankers were somehow linked w/ "Bolsheviks" (also presumably Jewish) in the labor movement, and (c) that Jewish resistance to becoming "Americanized" (i.e. assimilated) was subversive, as indicated in the following quotes:
"Wherever Jewish tendencies are permitted to work unhindered, the result is not 'Americanization,' nor 'Anglicization' nor any other distinctive nationalism, but a strong and ruling reversion back to essential 'Judaization."
"One of the strongest causes militating against the full Americanization of several millions of Jews in this country is their belief - instilled in them by their religious authorities - that they are 'chosen,' that this land is theirs, that the inhabitants are idolators, that the day is coming when the Jews will be supreme."
In 1927 a Jewish attorney sued Ford and the "Independent" for defamation. Ford did not testify due to an auto accident, but his reputation was severely damaged; and although the case ended in a mistrial, Ford apologized, closed the "Independent" and made an out-of-court settlement. However, he publicly expressed enthusiasm for Nazi Germany and accepted a medal from them in 1938.
