Julius Caesar Legacy

Question: Why is Julius Caesar a hero?

I DO NOT want info as to why he was a villain. Tell me all the good he did for Rome and the legacies he left, etc... Links would be much appreciated.

Answer: He conquered Gaul, which would prove lucrative for the Roman Empire in the future, and despite what most people say about him starting a civil war and how that was bad and all, it did unite Rome and make it stronger in the end.

The senators in Rome and the consuls were all seeking power, and the Republic was divided and corrupt, and even when he was assassinated, he paved the way for his adoptive son Augustus, who was one of the best leaders Rome ever had, and brought Rome to new heights of prosperity and wealth.

Also he created a very accurate calender that was widely used for hundreds of years, we use a modified version of the calender he created today.

He was a hero to the Roman people and a champion to the poor and the middle class.

He was officially deified by the senate after his death, and was worshiped around the empire for hundreds of years after his death.

He made the government in Rome more efficient, and was regarded by many as one of the greatest military commanders who have ever lived.

Despite being hated by many of his wealthy peers, he was loved by the common people and instituted many reforms that benefited the needy and less fortunate, and was always popular with the masses, and the Roman Military.

He died at the height of power and glory, loved by the people he ruled, what more could be asked for in a lifetime?

sorry no links, doing all this from memory =D

This time the drama is TV itself

NBC's meltdown has become the stuff of entertainment. But that's no cause for glee.
