61 BC: Julius Caesar acts as propraetor
59 BC: Julius Caesar is elected as consul
59 BC: Julius Caesar acts as proconsul
49 BC: Julius Caesar declares himself as dictator

58 BC rather than 59 acts as proconsul
48 BC rather than 49 first dictatorship
but I dont think anyone is going to argue too strongly over 1 year as their year started and finshed at different times to ours
