Question: Has Italy always been called Italy? Like was that country's name during Julius Caesar's time? ?

How about even before that?




Answer: it was called the roman empire with the capital rome (in todays present day rome). the empire was massive stretching from israel to britain (east to west) and north africa to the germanic countries like austria and switzerland and germany (south to north). italy was only established as a country in the 1800s. its only been around for around 150 yrs give or take a few decades (not to sure exact, this is only an approximation)
