Michael Berry Career Center in Dearborn Heights Michigan. Its is apart of Henry Ford Community College in Dearborn Heights. High school students from around the area become enrolled there and attend that school. I want to know if it is certified and do students become certified there?
It is apart of Dearborn Public Schools.

Answer: It is not accredited. I just did a quick search for you. If you go to school there you will only be an MA not a CMA which most employers require.

Technology continues to bring changes to our lives and many objects that people once placed great value in are being consigned to history. This has led people to speculate that the traditional type of book will be replaced by an electronic version; they point to the record industry as evidence to what will happen to books. Other people feel certain that the format of the book will also be completely revised because people no longer have the attention span to be wading through long narrative; they want something short and zappy. One other claim is that the future type of book will not be a static entity, but instead something that is constantly evolving with readers being able to interact with the text and the author constantly changing it to keep it up to date. These arguments do make a lot of sense, but here is why I feel certain that in some ways they are wrong; are at least not completely correct.

People frequently compare the traditional paper book to the record industry. To me this does not seem like a fair comparison because they are different in many ways. For one thing the book has been around a lot longer than recorded music. Humans have been enjoying books for many centuries while recorded sound is only just only been popular for over a hundred years or so. Recorded music has evolved rapidly during its history with different types of vinyl records leading to cassettes which developed to CDs and eventually to MP3s. People did become fond of different formats, but they were still having the same sort of listening experience only that it came with improvements. This is different than books because most readers claim that every attempt to develop an electronic reading device has always took away from the experience; people read electronic books for connivance and not because they offer a better way of reading. The big changes that have occurred with music have not happened with books and they don't really seem like to. The electronic book will become more popular, but it is unlikely to replace paper for many more years.

The next argument is that people want something much shorter that the traditional 60,000 to 120,000 word book. The reality is that there have always been some people who liked the short story over long narration. These days less people choose short stories and people now expect books to be longer; the average word count for a book was once about 60,000 but nowadays people feel shortchanged if it is anything less than 100,000.

The idea of the interactive book becoming more popular probably does have a lot of truth in it. New technology like Google Wave might herald some really exciting times ahead with readers being able to interact more with the story. These types of new technology will likely bring many new enjoyable ways of doing things, but they will likely just be a different way of reading rather than replacing the traditional book.

In 1962 the Indian government created the country's first television channel, Doordarshan, it remained the only Indian TV channel until the early 1980's, a far cry from the current offering where you can recieve a great range of Indian TV Online channels on your computer. Ramayana and Mahabharat were the first major television shows produced,they were both both Hindu mythological stories based on religious scriptures. Both serials created the world record for audience numbers for a single show. By 1986 more people started to own television sets. Though there was a single channel, television production had reached saturation, so the indian government opened up another channel which had some national programming and some regional. This channel was known as DD 2 later DD Metro, both channels were broadcast on the ground as opposed to through sky based satellites. The Indian government then launched a series of economic and social reforms in 1991 under Prime Minister Narasimha Rao. Under the new policies the government allowed private and foreign broadcasters to get involved in limited operations in India. This process has been pursued consistently by all subsequent federal governments. Foreign broadcasters like CNN, Star TV and domestic channels such as Zee TV and Sun TV started satellite programming. In 1962 India had just 42 TV sets in the whole country and one TV channel, right now TV in India covers more than 130 million homes giving a viewing population more than 800 million individuals through more than 300 channels. A large relatively untapped market, easy accessibility of relevant technology and a variety of programmes are the main reasons for rapid expansion of Television in India. It must be stressed that Television Entertainment in India is one of the cheapest in the world.Approximately 65% of homes in India have access to satellite TV, which was born in the early 1990's, including Rupert Murdoch's Star TV in 1991.

Sun TV was launched in 1992 as the first private channel in South India. Today it has 20 channels in the four South Indian languages - Telugu,Tamil, Malayalam and Kannada. Channels of the Sun TV network are also available outside of India. Recently Sun TV launched a DTH service. The Raj Network was started in 1994 and is an important player in the South Indian cable TV industry. In 1992, the Indian government changed policy by opening up to cable television. Five new channels belonging to the Hong Kong based STAR TV gave Indians a new option. MTV, BBC, Star Plus, Prime Sports and STAR Chinese Channel were the five channels. Zee TV was the first private owned Indian channel to broadcast on cable. A few years later CNN, Discovery Channel, National Geographic Channel made its foray into India. Star expanded its range introducing STAR World, ESPN, STAR Sports and STAR Gold. Regional channels did well along with a range of Hindi channels and a few English channels. By 2001 The History Channel and HBO entered India. By 2003, other channels such as Nickelodeon, Cartoon Network, Disney,Toon Disney and VH1 joined the ranged of options for the Indian viewer. In 2003 International and Domestic news channels started to grow. India is currently undergoing the implementation of a new TV system called CAS where the viewer gets the option to choose the channels they want to pay for and view, instead of receiving the whole set of channels that the Cable Operator makes available to them, so benefit by having to pay for just the channels they want to watch. Currently, in most of India, there is no segregation and subscribers pay a blanket rate for the entire service.

Blanket chests come in all furniture styles, but the ones that create a nice ambiance are those that replicate the antique blanket chests. German immigrants that moved to Pennsylvania, made hope chests that were handcrafted during the 18th and 19th Centuries which have beautiful styling and joinery. These blanket chests have been the favorite among collectors. Some chests had subtle outer design elements carved on the front sides which were usually floral designs. Other wood chests had elaborate,colorful designs which included flowers, people on horseback, hex designs meant to keep away bad spirits, hearts and stars.

The New England coastal area also boasted highly sought after blanket chests which replicated many of the styles of furniture made in Europe. The Queen Anne style, which was started in England, was probably the most favored. It was given a more stylish look in America. All along the New England coast, every major city had its own particular mode of Queen Anne furniture. Each city had its own foot style and preferred leg and design construction. Last September, after the glowing 27-year-old won three awards at the MTV Video Music Awards (VMAs) - including the major prize of the night for Video of the Year -host Russell Brand declared, 'This is the resurrection of Britney Spears.' She was the hit of the event - a far cry from her disastrous appearance at the 2007 awards ceremony, where everything from her weight to her performance was criticized. But with the release of her sixth studio album Circus, her family back in her life and her focus returning to work, Brand's prediction is likely to be spot-on.

For Britney's family, friends and fans, the 'resurrection' may have seemed a long time coming. In one tumultuous year - beginning when she publicly shaved her head in February 2007 and ending with her admission to a psychiatric ward in January 2008 - it appeared Britney's once seemingly perfect life had spiraled out of control. She had cut ties with her family, lost custody of her sons, three-year-old Sean Preston and two-year-old Jayden James (to her ex, Kevin Federline) and allowed domineering men such as former manager Sam Lutfi to control her stellar career. (Britney has sold more than 62-million albums worldwide.)

Back to the Beginning...

But to discover exactly how far she has come, we have to go right back to when a then 16-year-old Britney had her first worldwide hit with the single ...Baby One More Time. The former child star from The All New Mickey Mouse Club was promoted with a contrary image of a sexed-up schoolgirl who was supposedly still a virgin - and she became a star.

While some have referred to her as a pushy stage mother, Britney's mom Lynne wrote in her new book Through The Storm (Nelson Current) of her family's naivety about show business, having come from small-town Kentwood, Louisiana in the US. 'Why did I say yes to Britney's career'? Easy: I wanted to help my daughter make her dream come true,' she wrote. It worked. Britney's star rose quickly and, at only 17, she appeared in nothing but lingerie on the cover of Rolling Stone magazine. 'When I saw the cover, my heart sank and my face burnt. How did this happen? Lines were being crossed. Yet I foolishly thought I was in control,' Lynne wrote. From here on, Britney's story is well known: her relationship and, later, break-up with fellow 'mouseketeer' Justin Timberlake, the multimillion-selling albums and the growth of an empire, her Las Vegas wedding (later annulled), her marriage to and divorce from backup dancer Kevin Federline, the father of her children, and, of course, her lowest point, when she was admitted to a psychiatric ward early last year.

It was after the birth of her second son that things really started to unravel and her relationship with her mother broke down to the point that they didn't speak. 'I believe Britney had postpartum depression, which, added to the end of her marriage and the pressures of her career, brought her to the breaking point. So many things in her life hadn't turned out the way she wanted,' Lynne wrote in her book.

October 2008 marked 10 years since Britney released ...Baby One More Time and became a global phenomenon. Now her career has come full circle. At the VMAs, Britney thanked her fans for their support and later announced that she plans to tour in 2009. 'Really wonderful things are happening now,' Lynne says. 'It looks like things are looking up again.' Here we take a look at the rise and fall (and rise) of Britney Spears.

The interesting thing about Britney is she was always highly motivated to excel. She practiced singing and dancing so much it drove me crazy,' wrote her mom, Lynne Spears. Britney's aunt, Chandra McGovern, says, 'At any family get-together, Britney would get up on the table and sing.' Her big voice was first heard across the US on Star Search. At 12 she won a role on The All New Mickey /House Club, appearing alongside future boyfriend Justin Timberlake.

Not that Innocent

Although she was depicted as a sexy schoolgirl in her first hit video, Britney's record company pushed her 'virginal' image. It was later reported she had already lost her virginity at the age of 14 to Kentwood local Reg Jones. 'People around us pushed us apart,' Jones says of the relationship.

While Jones may have been Brit's first real boyfriend, Justin Timberlake is the one with whom she first locked lips when she was 12. 'I think I did give her her first kiss,' Justin told talk-show host Barbara Walters. They later dated for three years before splitting in 2002, allegedly over infidelity - hers, as Justin implied in the video for his hit post-break-up single Cry Me A River.

Did Henry Ford ever suffer a stroke while watching film of nazi Concentration Camps in 1945? I saw it in a televison miniseries Ford: The Man and the Machine. Is this true or is this false?

Answer: Ford had a stroke in 1938, so no he didn't have a stroke in 1945 watching a film.

It's been a weekend full of bizarre trademark filings and patent applications, and Sony has joined the flurry with an appropriately curious filing of their own. Siliconera once again comes through with a new trademark discovery, this one for a new online service — maybe? — from Sony called "Qriosity" (pronounced "curiosity," like Sony's equally weirdly named Qore andQrios — they really like their Qs).

According to the trademark filing, it's registered for use with "portable gaming machines" and "game services provided on-line from a computer network." Since an online survey recently bubbled up regarding possible features for Sony's potential premium PSN service, the natural line of conjecture so far points to Qriosity being the name for said premium service.

One, ahem, curiosity about the filing, though, is that it was made by Sony proper and not Sony Computer Entertainment specifically.

Moreover, the more specific details of the trademark filing seem to suggest a service much more geared toward e-commerce tha online gaming. They include, among other things, the mention of an "online shopping mall with links to the retail websites of others," "file sharing and information portal in the field of e-commerce," and "online distribution of music, image, or video."

If their current "premium" service Qore wasn't enough of an abomination of the letter "Q", then surely Qriocity takes the cake.

There are not many options when it comes to jobs for college grads, even with your new degree. Many people think that as soon as you graduate college, doors will open and jobs will abound. However, the reality of the job market is that there are few jobs to choose from and it may be required for you to take a job you don't necessarily want until the one you do want comes available.

Many college grads are hard at work finding a job in their field before they ever go to college or graduate. However, if you are one of the unlucky who does not have a job lined up after graduation, jobs for college grads can be hard to come by in your field. If you must complete an apprenticeship or internship in order to become licensed in your field, now is the time to find that position. There are state resources that you can use to help you find these positions including researching at your local library.
