Question: Who are the main characters of Julius Caesar? The one by William Shakespeare?

I've been reading Julius Caesar by William Shakespeare and I need help figuring out who the main characters are. I know Brutus is one of them but I'm not sure if there are more?
Answer: This is a great question, because the identity of the main character in Julius Caesar is far from clear. Here are some of the cases for each of the four protagonists:
Julius Caesar - Well, the play is named after him, and if it wasn't for his egotistical personality, you wouldn't have a play.
Mark Antony - A brilliant orator, he drives the action of the play by delivering an incredibly well-crafted speech to the crowd just after Caesar's murder.
Brutus - A respected Roman who always tries to do the right thing, or at least convinces himself that that's what he is doing. He genuinely hates tyranny and wants democracy in Rome.
Cassius - A manipulative character, Cassius is the one who brings Brutus on board with the conspiracy and convinces him that Caesar must die for the good of Rome.

2. As for your 2nd passage, He's just asking everyone in the audience to listen. He saying he hasn't come to say a whole bunch of nice things about caesar, he's come to bury him. like he's just there speaking at his funeral. Then he goes on to say that basically people only remember the bad things a person has done after they are dead, and all of the good things are buried with them.

Question: Conquest of Gaul by Julius Caesar (Penguin Classics Edition) Help!!!?

I have to read this book for school and I've already read half of it. I've always been a good student, but the problem is that I really don't understand what I'm reading. I have to write a 3-5 page paper within the next few weeks and answer a list of really complicated and specific questions. I looked up to see if there was a sparknotes or an online summary/study guide, but I can't find what I'm looking for. The list is so long and confusing that I couldn't even type it out here. Please Help!!!
Answer: At least you are reading it in English. I had to read it in Latin! Itis a description of Julius Caesar's wars against the Gauls, probably compiled from the (self-serving) reports he sent back to the Senate in Rome. Otherwise, I don't know how to help you further, except to suggest that you google for a map of ancient Gaul with the tribal names and place names to see where the campaigns were taking places. Also google those names for more information.

Question: Help with Julius Ceasar acting?

Answer: Do you know what Brutus is doing during his talk? I do not know but as a former drama instructor I can tell you this:
If he is talking to a group, do the same, use your audience as the senate or whatever. Look into their eyes one after the other and use hand gestures to emphasize your points. Do not "act out" with your hands but do as a normal person would. ("act out" means you do not flap your arms if you talk about flying and you do not hold your hands to your heart if you talk about love.)
If he is talking to an individual, use a real person or a chair and do the same. Concentrate on the chair as if it was listening to you and you are trying to convince it with your argument. Walk around it, put your hand on it's shoulders if the content of the talk seems to indicate it.
If this is the talk with the skull and you have no skull, then choose something strange like a GI Joe doll. If you maintain your composure and you stay in character, the doll indicates that you can act in any circumstance.

Answer: If you read the play, you should find this question very simple.
The only character with ANY internal conflict (throughout the whole play) is Brutus. As for a clash, how about Cassius and his conspiracy to kill Caesar?

Question: What's the best book copy of the play "Julius Caesar"?

I was just called to be cast in a local production of Julius Caesar, which will be cast next month. I'd like to go and buy a script, but, well, I'd like to get my hands on whatever "best" copy I can. That means a script that is small enough that it could fit into my coat pocket (so I can carry it where'er I go, pretty much), but that may also include a 'notes' section for any tips or historical notes that might be helpful for the play.
Lastly, something I can pick up for a reasonable price. Online if needed, and yes, ebay/half.com are legitimate.
Any recommendations?
....bonus points for a pretty cover! Haha.

Answer: The best scholarly editions of individual Shakespeare plays are the Arden ones. They'd have the best notes, but many of them involve disputes over textual accuracy rather than literary interpretation. Still, they are heavenly for the Shakespeare lover. They are, though, too large for your purposes.
For good solid texts with good notes and prefaces or afterwords, the Signet Classics editions are fine. However, some would find fault with the paper for an actor. But I suggest you use the Signets as your guide and pick out something that has better quality paper and larger margins with equally good (if not better) critical apparatus outside the text of the play (e.g., a preface or whatnot).
