Question: So how did Peter and the Apostles let Paul dictate to them what Christianity would be?

12 against 1. But anyway, some people say that Peter and the Apostles wanted Christianity to be some type of Jewish sect I suppose. So how did the 12 apostles let Paul completely over shadow them?
So the council had no idea?

Answer: I think Paul had a lot of influence among the non-Jewish believers and was somewhat of a natural leader, something the apostles needed after they lost Jesus. I do not think they were yet convinced of what Jesus had told them and believed the world would end and Jesus return during their lifetime. There is no need to create a Jewish sect since Christianity has always and will always have its roots in the Jewish tradition.
