Question: What famous people started their career later in life?

I would like some examples of people who are famous and work in the entertainment business that worked later in life, probably 28 and over. Most of the time, when I read famous people's biographies, they always start training from an early age (before 14), or know what they want to be from a really early age (as children). Are there any celebrities who didn't know what they wanted to be at first until later in life and/or trained later? Thanks, I could use some inspiration.
Answer: Cillian Murphy. He is an awesome actor. He didn't start at around 28, more like 21. He went to college originally to become a lawyer and he realized that wasn't his real passion. He accidentally came upon an acting troupe and just auditioned for the heck of it. He's one of those pure talent guys who had no training. I mean i guess if you look deep enough he probably did some plays in high school but who hasn't these days. I wouldn't call that professional training exactly. Hope this helped.

Question: A good biography of Anne Boleyn?

I recently developed a slight obsession with Henry VIII and his court lol so I'm looking for good biographies of the wives, children and Henry of course!! but I'd like to begin with Anne please help!!
Answer: The biography by Eric Ives is probably the best in terms of accuracy and reputation. Avoid anything by Joanna Denny or Alison Weir; they have a tendency to be very biased.
For a decent all around bio of Henry's wives, try The Six Wives of King Henry VIII by Antonia Fraser.
David Starkey has also written extensively on the whole Tudor clan, and is considered a leading figure in the field. David Loades has also written several scholarly bios.
A great book on Catherine of Aragon that is currently out of print is Garrett Mattingly's Catherine of Aragon.

Question: Do you think Coolio's stories are just lies designed to annoy everyone else?

I say this because I found out that Coolio was actually a bright kid at school and a bookworm. He wanted to join the gang to fit in, but was never really accepted.
Here is an extract from Coolio's biography from mtv.com:
"Coolio was born Artis Leon Ivey, Jr. on August 1, 1963, in the South Central L.A. area of Compton. As a young boy, he was small, asthmatic, highly intelligent, and a bookworm, which often made life outside the home difficult. Answer: I read on Digital Spy that Tina told Lucy that she didn't think Coolio was very intelligent, but the mere fact that he's got the reaction he wanted by winding them up is proof that he's highly intelligent and very crafty! Question: Autobiography/Biography book I could read for my project?

I was thinking maybe an autobiography about someones experience of being in love or a biography about a child who went trough cancer. Just either something emotional or maybe about an awesome singer. I just can't find any :/ Help please. Any ideas? (It has to have at least 175 pages.)

Question: Whats a good book or series to read?

i've read twilight already, so don't suggest that or harry potter.
im 12 right now,, but i like very long books so it doesn't matter the length, it could be from 100pg to 900pg.
ive read all the twilight books, and im not a big fan of harry potter, i like the movies, i tried reading harry potter and the half blood prince but idk just not my thing to read about, just good enough to watch the movie.
anyways i hate reading anout mid evil times, or history, or biography's.
and just because im 12 please don't tell me some princess book, or slumber party kinda stuff.
i guess i like mysteries and suspense, a lil comedy, just about any genre exept non-fiction anything else is good with me.
Answer: The Hunger Games is my favorite book. I've never met anyone who doesn't love it. I'm reading Twilight right now, and trust me, it is way better than Twilight. I very, very, very, very, very highly recommend it! =]

Question: Good title for a kid's book about John Steinbeck?

I had to write a kid's book about John Steinbeck for school. It's basically just a biography of his life. I am having trouble coming up with a title for the book. Any suggestions?
Answer: I'd just keep it simple with - John Steinbeck: A Biography.
Sounds duh, but that's the general format.

Question: Former Prison Inmate getting out and wanting a better life, need some inspirational books. biographies of thos?

I have a cihldhood friend who I have not seen in almost 12years. When I run into his mother at the grocery store, she had said he has been in prison for a good number of those years adn was actually getting out finally in Jan. I said to give him my number if he needed someone to talk to. (We lived together for 3 years, before I moved and that was before he changed his ways.)
Anyways he did call me from Prison, and we had some catching up to do. His family invited me and my family over for dinner when he gets out for a reunion. He has changed his way of thinking, and now wants to re-enter society NOT as he left it. He also has 2 kids, one he has never met.
I am looking for a good book that I can give him when I see him, that will talk about the rehabilitation of a criminal and there life (positively) thereafter. If anyone knows of a good book, PLEASE let me know, I would love for him to get keep his thinking on track on the "outside"

Question: What are your top 5 favourite books?

From this question I aim to discover a new book or to simply gain inspiration.
I'm interested in books about reckless abandon, stories of rock and roll and biographies about life & death rock stars. I love true crime (i.e Worlds Greatest Serial Killers, Texas Death Row) and I love witty, introspective -but not at all pretentious- stories about the tragedy of relationships -My personal favourite "High Fidelity" by Nick Hornby.
Can you help me find new books to read?

1. I Know This Much is True by Wally Lamb...about a middle aged man's struggles with his mentally challenged twin and the effects it has upon his life.
2. Atonement by Ian McEwan...about a young girl whose little lie holds terrible repercussions within her family and those around her during WWII.
3. Wicked by Gregory Maguire...about the Wicked Witch of the West and the origins of evil.
4. The Devil Wears Prada by Lauren Weisberger...a guilty pleasure about a young woman struggling in an editor's assistant position at a fashion magazine.
5. The Lovely Bones by Alice Sebold...a GORGEOUSly written book about a girl who views her family and friend's lives from heaven after she is murdered. The prose is literally flawless.
Other favorites include...

Question: I don't think this will happen, but do you think the Internet will ever completely replace libraries?

Of course, I think we can all agree that the reference department of libraries is pretty much a ghost town nowadays, since, as far as pure factual information, just about all of that can be found on the Internet. But I think libraries are still very much alive, and always will be, in areas such as children's literature (children's story time with librarians reading picture books to children), fiction books being checked out by people who don't want to buy them, and nonfiction (such as history books, autobiography and biography, geography and travel books, etc.). I don't think a day will EVER come when people only want to read over the computer and nowhere else. What do YOU think?
Answer: Libraries are not only about books but movies and CDs and access to computers and wifi
and libraries are used as meeting places.
Most people like to hold books and they don't crash. ebooks are likely to take place of textbooks and paperbacks but people will still want dead tree books.
(After what happened to Kindle 1984 imagine what changes could be made to the Bible or any other book instantly. Kindle could have the South win the US civil war)
GPS and Google Maps have greatly reduce the use of paper maps.

What is the best easy-to-read biography of Paul McCartney? (When I mean easy-to-read, I don't mean for children. I mean a book that isn't too long or complicated and includes everything from his birth to now.)

The Bob Spitz book, I mean.
Answer: There is not one book out there that has his life from birth to now. But, two of my favorite books would have to be The Beatles by Bob Spitz. This book gives a detailed look from McCartney's childhood up until his final days with the beatles. The other book is many years from now. This book is comprised from interviews that Paul has given through the years. My favorite part of the book is when he talks about how he wrote the song yesterday.

Question: What are your favorite non-fiction books?

Have you read any non-fiction books that you just loved? What was it and what was so great about it? I prefer non-fiction to fiction a lot of times and am looking for suggestions. I like memoirs, biographies, and interesting informational books.
Non-fiction means 'true.'

Answer: Wow, a lot of people don't know the difference between non-fiction and fiction! Kinda sad...
Anyway, my absolute favorite non-fiction is Mountains Beyond Mountains, by Tracy Kidder--about a doctor's work in Haiti, Peru, and Russia. (But then again, my major was Public Health)
I also really enjoyed Devil in the White City by Erik Larson and In Cold Blood by Capote... although those definitely have darker elements (murder)!
Finally, Into the Wild and Into Thin Air by Jon Krakauer are really good if you're into outdoorsy themes. Good luck!
Ahh I forgot a couple more. The Tipping Point and Blink, both by Malcolm Gladwell, are very interesting books about what makes trends catch (the Tipping Point) and thinking without really thinking (Blink). I think Gladwell is a little pompous, but his books are really interesting.
