Question: So how did Peter and the Apostles let Paul dictate to them what Christianity would be?

12 against 1. But anyway, some people say that Peter and the Apostles wanted Christianity to be some type of Jewish sect I suppose. So how did the 12 apostles let Paul completely over shadow them?
So the council had no idea?
Answer: I think Paul had a lot of influence among the non-Jewish believers and was somewhat of a natural leader, something the apostles needed after they lost Jesus. I do not think they were yet convinced of what Jesus had told them and believed the world would end and Jesus return during their lifetime. There is no need to create a Jewish sect since Christianity has always and will always have its roots in the Jewish tradition.

Question: why didn't Paul write in his letters about Jesus life?

he only write about faith, the justification, the salvation by faith meanwhile James the apostle said the deeds is not a contradiction? and some parts of the new testament showed the apostles disagree with Paul spreading the gospel to the pagans.. Paul never wrote about Jesus if the gospels are written according oral stories about witnesses that saw Jesus.. but Paul never did that.. Paul just mentioned the last supper.. but that's all
it's not clear your answers.. if Paul said he said he was an apostle even the 12 apostles didn't say there is another one, he called himself an apostle and he preached christ but he doesn't teach the jesus life, he forgot it or what?
Answer: he didnt even know the man his stories are just that, stories!

Question: What do you think of Apostle Paul?

His negative attitude towards women reflects his cultural background and from where he came from. He used those negative cultural beliefs on women when he was preaching to the church in corinth. Remember that these were not the words of jesus .
paul also struggles with a secret sexual condition he think was wrong but says how the acceptance of jesus of everyone has made him at peace with himself. A deeper understanding of his views proves that paul had to be a Homosexual man but found favor with jesus who says everyone is equal in christ

Answer: There are no words of Jesus.
Paul was the earliest of the writers about Jesus, and even that was decades after Jesus died, if Jesus existed at all. He really says little about the life or teachings of Jesus. That stuff was made up decades later by the people who wrote the Gospels.
Paul didn't know Jesus, nor did any of the writers who came later. All of the supposed quotes from Jesus were made up by writers who paraphrased old stories that were floating around at the time. So, you shouldn't be surprised that each inserted his own views and agendas.
Religion is superstition.

Question: Are you smarter than Apostle Paul at reading the scriptures and determing what is the true religion of God?

Known as Saul of Tarsus, he was highly educated and read the Holy Torah. He concluded that these Brethren Jews, who were going house to house telling people that the prophesies of the Holy Torah pointed to the presence of the Messiah in their time, were a false cult.
Saul was not a Pharisee, who like many leaders of today's churches, profit from continuing the old ways, rituals, traditions, and holiday observances. From his point of view, he was a dedicated servant of God, and basically, he was.
All his scriptural study did not lead him to the true religion, but away from it. It took the appearance of Christ, who now exist in unapproachable light, to blind him for him to see the light.
So, YES or NO, are you smarter than Apostle Paul at reading the scriptures and determing what is the true religion of God?

Answer: I don't believe God wrote the scriptures! I think Paul was filled with hubris and at every turn did everything he could to put his own imprimatur on the Church. Paul was not Christ, Paul didn't know Christ.

Question: Shouldn't All "True Christians" be Unmarried?

The Apostle Paul told us that if you are unmarried (which everyone was at one point in time), you should remain unmarried unless you burn of envy.............
So, are all married Christians just Christians who weren't devoted enough to follow their religion the whole way through?????

Paul chose not to be married because he had a specific calling and purpose in his life. Some people are meant to get married and have a family AKA Adam and Eve "be fruitful and multiply the earth."
Like the other guy said, if we all chose not to get married we would not reproduce.

Question: Believer Puzzle: I want to be forgiven. Should I believe what Christ said, or what Paul said?

Christ simply said: Forgive others and God will forgive you.
On the other hand, Paul/Saul terrorized the first Christians and then after Christ was gone went on to declare himself and Apostle... and he said: "Christ died for our sins."
So who was right on forgiveness: Christ himself, or the one who terrorized the first followers of Christ?

Answer: Jesus Christ is all Truth of /as God ! Saul, who became Paul, was a partly confused promoter of his version of what Jesus Christ said; much of this Paul got second-hand from others and their less than perfect memory.
God and Jesus are both equally loving and merciful and are here in Spirit. God and Jesus and the Holy Spirit all forgive our sins even before we think to ask God for forgiveness ! But that forgiveness will not be comprehended by you in soul or in mind until you freely forgive others. You then know that if you can be somewhat forgiving, our loving Father God is even more lavishly forgiving ! Amen !

Question: is St Paul not just a selfish self proclaimed Apostle who preaches his own teachings?

Saul of Tarsus was not the most reliable witness: Why do Christians instantly believe his vision of Christ? and why do they now follow Paul's interpretation of his vision instead of the teachings of Jesus?

THE GOSPEL OF ST. THOMAS WAS BANNED BY CHURCH
The writings of St. Thomas who was a direct disciple of Jesus have been banned and outlawed by Church (by Emperor Constantine around the 4th century C.E) and Saul (St Paul) has been accepted although St. Paul never met Jesus. See St. Thomas here :

St. Paul was a hardline Jew who killed many chistians but later changed himself. It appears to me Jews like St. Paul have tried their best to make Christianity , Jewish oriented.
A bulk of Torah and Jewish history & beliefs in detail were attached to bible (as OT) and a short life of Jesus is attached at the end (just like an addendum i.e. NT ). For a newcomer it would appear that the God of Jews(Jehovah) is the real God and Israel is the holy land.
Even today Christians say : Hallelujah . Which means 'praise to the God of Israelis - Jehovah'.
Roman Church had its own axe to grind to consolidate its power. It could never accept that the asians(especially indians) were capable of developing a superior theology. The idea that Jesus had accepted buddhist ideology in egypt was repugnent to the Roman church because that would have diluted their authority and the christians would have accepted Buddha's birth place in India as their place of pilgrimage & of faith.
Therefore all connections to Buddhism were snapped by the Roman church by Constantine and many original works were declared as heresey.
BTW I believe that Jesus learnt Buddhism in Alexandria in Egypt as he spent his initial 12 long years there. Many of his teachings are Buddhist in nature. See the links below :

Question: Spiritually speaking......To all the Singles Ladies? (Christians)?

LOLs...will u prefer to get married or stay single?
Like in the words of the Apostle Paul ... who himself said it is better for any man (unmarried)... not to get married ...to remain as they are.... and he thinks he also has the Spirit of Christ... agreeing with that..

Answer: it is no fun staying single for the rest of your life; that may have been fine for Paul, because his full-time job was preaching and working for God. But i am not an apostle, and am therefore not called to live like one, especially since i know that i want to have children and a family.
If my calling was to be a nun or a wandering preacher, then i'd consider going the single route, because my focus would be totally on higher things.
i am not carnal-minded; i just know one of my callings is to me a mother, holding down my family.

Question: Did the Apostle Paul offer sacrifices in the book of Acts or later? I have heard he did, but can't find it.

Answer: It is not written in the New Testament at all. It is rightfully inferred. How? Jews traditionally under the Law offered sacrifices. Even Jesus did this!!!! He had to keep the law up until his death. Then the New Testament became effective.
Paul said he was a devout Jew (the Book of Acts bears this out) and as such he would have kept the letter of the law which includes sacrifices. AFTER his conversion, there is no reason to assume he continued the tradition of sacrifices.

The Apostle Paul In Rome

Question: Why does the Acts of the Apostles end so abruptly? Could Luke not disguise Paul's actions in Rome to look good?

I mean, Luke does a passable job of making the rift between Paul and the apostles look temporary till the end of the book, when Paul is supposed to show the Jewish Christians in Jerusalem that is still one of them, but instead ends up identifying himself as a Roman. (Acts 22)
From there till the very end of the book the proud Roman citizen is safely in Rome, in Roman custody, awaiting a "trial" that Luke doesn't even try to pretty up like he did elsewhere in the book. We have some legends about what he did, sure, but nothing from an eyewitness like Luke. Luke was with Paul in Rome, according to Acts, so why does the book end so abruptly? What was Paul really up to that had to be left out?
Hi Dewcoons. Thanks for your detailed answer, but why would Luke be trying to get the charges dropped when the Roman authorities tried to drop the charges themselves and Paul wouldn't let them? Remember, he is the one who appealed to Caesar. They wanted to let him go.

Answer: Sorry, I don't have a good answer for you. Try the links below. I'm afraid I don't care much what Paul had to say. I'm just not as forgiving as God Almighty. I can't get past Paul/Saul being a Witch Hunter, er, I mean, Christian Hunter (same job, same tools, different faiths) and having people stoned to death for their beliefs.

Question: Question about Paul's missionary journeys?

Traditionally, most scholars agree that Paul eventually visited Spain before going back to Jerusalem.....and then onto Rome where he was eventually martryed under Nero.
Romans 15:24 indicates that Paul 'planned' to go to Spain.......but doesn't definately say he was ever there.
My question is:
Do you think the apostle Paul ever made it to Spain on his 4th and final missionary journey?

Answer: You're correct that Scripture implies Paul *may* have gone to Spain, but it doesn't conclusively state this. However, there are reliable extra-Biblical writings that seem to support the notion that Paul did evangelize there.
1) As far as I know, the only credible surviving document that specifically states Paul visited Spain is 'The Muratorian Fragment,' which is dated to about 170 AD. In part, the Fragment reads: "Moreover, the acts of all the apostles were written in one book. For 'most excellent Theophilus' Luke compiled the individual events that took place in his presence — as he plainly shows by omitting the martyrdom of Peter as well as the departure of Paul from the city [of Rome] when he journeyed to Spain."
2) Clement of Rome (who is mentioned at Philippians 4:3b) studied under the Apostles Peter, Paul and John; in fact, Peter himself appointed Clement Bishop of Rome, leading many Catholics to conclude Clement was intended to be Peter's successor as "first Pope."
Very little of Clement's writings remain. However, among those is an Epistle to the Corinthians that reads, in part, as follows:
" ... let us come to those champions who lived very near to our time. Let us set before us the noble examples which belong to our generation. By reason of jealousy and envy the greatest and most righteous pillars of the Church were persecuted, and contended even until death. Let us set before our eyes the good Apostles. ... By reason of jealousy and strife Paul by his example pointed out the prize of patient endurance. After that he had been seven times in bonds, had been driven into exile, had been stoned, had preached in the East and in the West, he won the noble renown which was the reward of his faith having taught righteousness unto the whole world and having reached the farthest bounds of the West; and when he had borne his testimony before the rulers, so he departed from the world and went unto the holy place having been found a notable pattern of patient endurance."
As you can see, Clement doesn't list the countries Paul visited, but his description supports the Muratorian Fragment's claim that Paul's evangelization covered a *much* larger geographical area than is recorded within 'The Acts of the Apostles.'
3) As far as I know, the only other document mentioning Paul journeying to Spain is the heretical scroll 'The Acts of Peter.'

Answer: I think that whichever each person chooses to believe will be
will be the 'right' answer for them.
There is a world-renowned neurologist who believes that many of the saints may have been suffering from migraine headaches, and that voices and visions could have been part of their prodrome, AKA aura.
I don't have a ready answer one way or the other myself, but I do believe in God and angels, that they do speak at times, and that if God or his angels even chose to manifest as part of a migraine headache, so be it!

Question: If the Trinity doctrine is so important- why did Paul not wrote many Books on this subject for clarification?

After-all if belief in it is Paramount- would not the Christ empower the Apostle Paul to bring this teaching to the fore and make sure that generations following would know in details the length & Breath of this teaching.. but there are None...why?
