Question: In spite of what historians have been lead to believe. Who else but Julius Caesar and Cleopatra would have had
...the power and credability to start a major religion?
If you are going to answer "God and a virgin" don't bother. I have heard that one.Answer: Their "power" was irrelevant and they had little credibility. Religions are started by charismatic individuals who can aggregate to themselves others who propagate the faith. Aside from the one you don't wish to talk about, religions started after Caesar and Cleopatra include Islam and Ba'hai although Mohammed's success depended in large measure on the military power he created.
