Apostle Paul Art

Question: Conversion of Peter, formerly called Satan. Why does it say “when”, about his conversion, not if: Luke 22:32?
Matthew 16:23 (Apostle Peter is called Satan)
But he turned, and said unto Peter, Get thee behind me, Satan:
thou art an offence unto me:
for thou savourest not the things that be of God, but those that be of men.Luke 22:32 (Peter, aka Satan, is told he’ll get converted)
But I have prayed for thee, that thy faith fail not:
and when thou art converted, strengthen thy brethren.2Peter 3: paraphrased:
(Peter admits conversion via Paul’s epistles)
(Peter strengthens brethren with grow in grace)
(For Grace will have mercy, multiplies peace)
Answer: Jesus was a prophet, and as such “knew” the future.
Therefore, it was a certainty that Peter would eventually be converted, so Jesus could use the word “when” with confidence.
Many people say that God transcends time without fully understanding exactly what that means. It means that it is BOTH pre-destination and free-will; it is not one or the other. We have free-will in that we – in the moment – are free to CHOOSE our own destinies, while on the other hand we are pre-destined because God – who is NOT in the moment – already knows the results of our free-will choices.
Thus: While Judas still had the choice of whether or not to “betray” Jesus (and I personally believe that he really didn’t betray him – any more than Peter did with his denials of him; all Judas really did was make it easier for the Pharisees to do what they had already made up their minds to do anyway), he couldn’t NOT betray him because when God had said that he would, he really already HAD chosen to do so.
The same as with Peter’s conversion, which hadn’t yet happened when Jesus used the word “when,” it couldn’t NOT happen the way that it was prophesied, because it already HAD happened to the God for whom all things have already happened.
It is only a matter of our linear time until our FREE-WILL choices coincide with God’s PRE-DESTINATION.
***** ADDENDUM *****
Although “Machine Head” did not answer your question about Jesus’ prediction, he does have a point, because, whereas his statement about the book of 2 Peter is debated, the Gospels themselves are known to have been written well after the time that Jesus lived. Specifically, then, Luke 22:32 could have been written so as to give the impression that Jesus prophesied what was already known – even to men – to have happened, in an effort to make it more believable.
I’m not saying that it was – or even that I think that it was. I am only presenting both sides of the argument to you here.
It is up to you to decide which one to believe.
And although I agree with “Always Praising” that Peter was not called Satan, only that Satan was influencing Peter at the time, in any event you are not going to be held “accountable” for teaching false doctrine – primarily because the Church’s OVERALL doctrine is – BIBLICALLY – just as questionable as is any other.

Apostle Paul To The Gentiles

Question: Why did Jesus choose,as some say,12 apostles for the Jews and just 1 for the gentiles i.e. Paul? When Jesus ..?
…made Peter the ‘rock of the church’ did he imply a church only for the Jews?
Answer: ALL of the apostles/disciples were Jews. Paul was no exception. He was a Torah-observant Jew.
Peter was not the “Rock,” Yeshua is. Peter could never have been the head of the Catholic church because he never visited Rome!

St. Dominic Biography

I live… in a Victorian flat, which I only just moved into. I was living in a big warehouse in Shoreditch before where my business was but my lease finished.
I’m partial to… Eames furniture. Our last place had a Seventies, Habitat-type sofa in it.
My favourite room in the new house is… the corridor, because it’s wide and there’s a lot of potential to make a little gallery out of it.
If you want to quickly update a room… put some of our tiles up! Or for a living room, put up wallpaper.
My current range…is called Ensemble. I was first going to do a range designed in contours and continuous lines and then I started thinking about rhythm and flow and about musical instruments and soundwaves.
I wish I played… musical isntruments. Actually I sometimes play the bicycle pump with friends who’ve been busking outside our shop. It makes a squeaking kind of sound.
What makes a home is… personality. It’s not just going to a shop and ordering something, but it’s choosing things that have been thought about.
When I furnish my home… I’ll think of it by room, and think of themes. You can’t have lots of themes in the same room but in one home, definitely, because you don’t see all the rooms at the same time. But you shouldn’t have it too varied.
I don’t have a favourite colour… but I have favourite combinations. Today, I think it’s beigy-greens.
I would love to own… a more comfortable pair of shoes.
Artists are… my gurus. They used to influence what I do but not anymore. I like Debuffet, the French artist. I like his boldness particularly for the time, the almost lyrical nature of his work.
My best tip of advice is… don’t take advice from anyone, use your own initiative. In fact, you should take advice, but don’t consider what other people say to be the Bible.
The trend I like is… soft, delicate ceramics. In particular I’ve seen some very thin porcelain ceramic which look more like crystal.
At the moment I’m working on… glass tiles and panels for the company. And the house; I’m doing a lot of that in my free time.
My most valued posessions are… my old ceramics. I used to do ceramic sculptures and they are the only things that get carried round places with me.
Wallpaper is a kind of material used to cover and decorate the interior walls of homes, offices, and other buildings; it is one aspect of interior decoration. They are usually sold in rolls and are put onto a wall using wallpaper paste. Wallpapers can come either plain (so that it can be painted), or with patterned graphics.
Wallpaper printing techniques include surface printing, gravure printing, silk screen-printing, and rotary printing. Mathematically speaking, there are seventeen basic patterns, described as wallpaper groups, that can be used to tile an infinite plane. All manufactured wallpaper patterns are based on these groups. A single pattern can be issued in several different colorways.
Wallpaper, using the printmaking technique of woodcut, gained popularity in Renaissance Europe amongst the emerging gentry. The elite of society were accustomed to hanging large tapestries on the walls of their homes, a tradition from the Middle Ages. These tapestries added colour to the room as well as providing an insulating layer between the stone walls and the room, thus retaining heat in the room. However, tapestries were extremely expensive and so only the very rich could afford them. Less well-off members of the elite, unable to buy tapestries due either to prices or wars preventing international trade, turned to wallpaper to brighten up their rooms.
