Apostle Paul Law

Question: Why was the Apostle Paul saying that some would pervert the Gospel, having to do with the Law vs. Grace?

Galatians 1
6 I marvel that ye are so soon removed from him that called you into the grace of Christ unto another gospel:

7 Which is not another; but there be some that trouble you, and would pervert the gospel of Christ.

Are there any who do this today? Who perverts the Gospel with a message about the Law?

Are you one of them?
Galatians 3
5 He therefore that ministereth to you the Spirit, and worketh miracles among you, doeth he it by the works of the law, or by the hearing of faith?

Answer: Gosh, I don't know where to start.

Let me answer sideways and see if this works.

1) Jesus fulfilled the covenant to Abraham...also from Galatians 3.

2) Abraham was not under the law. The Gospel was preached to Abraham.... Also from Galatians 3.

3) The law does not annul Grace...also from Galatinas 3.

You see, most modern evangelicals get it backwards..they always scream antinomian and proclaim that the Grace does not annul the law. But the Scripture teaches that the law does not annul Grace.

Finally....
4) The law was added due to transgression.

Now we can read our Scripture in Hebrews 3 and 4, Romans, Galatians, and the entire Old Testament and realize that the people lost the faith of Abraham over and over again starting in Egypt and this has continued right up to many of modern evangelicals of today.

Their message...?

Salvation is by Grace apart from the works of the law, but you better ( fill inthe blank ) or else ( fill inthe blank ).

This Gospel cause the Blood to be considered common and tramples the Spirit of the Living God underfoot.

The Good News? God will always reserve and/or raise up a remnant.

All Glory to the Father and our Lord Jesus Christ.

Peter Gomes' Sad Mission

Peter Gomes, Harvard's longtime professor of Christian morals and preacher at its on-campus Memorial Church, died at 68 on February 28. An elegant writer and passionate preacher, he acknowledged in 1991 that he was a homosexual and spent much of the next two decades arguing that homosexuality is condemned in Scripture not because of divine revelation but cultural bigotry.
